Knowledge is Power
Hi, my name is Cassidy Phillips, Founder of Trigger Point Technologies and
REGEN Performance Training; years ago my body started to break down and
I was forced to deal with chronic pain and muscular dysfunction.
I needed answers to the questions as to why my body was breaking down and what was causing the chronic pain throughout my body.
I saw every specialist I could………..all with the same results………… their solutions would only last a day or two, at best.
I needed empowerment; I needed to be able to take care of myself.
This
forced me to study the human body’s movement, biomechanics, and
muscular structure, which resulted in the answers I was looking for.
Now, I am transferring those answers to you in a practical style of performance training to
be understood by anyone in need of a lifestyle change, performance
enhancement, or general wellness. It's not always while you're training
that causes the problems, it's when you're not training.
I was
told that I could never be an athlete again; I don’t want you to hear
the same. Since that time I’ve done several Ironman Triathlons, Ultra
Marathons, and continue to live a healthy lifestyle.
Re-Gen Performance Training
is a training information portal by me for you. I am a certified
personal trainer, biomechanical specialist, Ironman Finisher, and Ultra
Distance Runner, who has helped many athletes prepare to be their best.
I have worked with some of the best in the world when it comes to Triathlon, the NFL, and the NHL.
When it comes to the biomechanics of the body, people tend to forget that muscles enable the body to move.
Every
bone has a muscle that surrounds it, and every joint has a muscle and a
tendon that supports it, so if you don't take care of the muscles, how
can you rely on them to enable your body to move efficiently through
life?
Take a look at the Body Biomechanics Guy to your left. If
you click on the image, you will be taken to an article that reminds
you of what your muscles do and why. These articles will also review
information that you will find useful in order to remain active and
healthy.
I see the traditional
active lifestyle injuries as soft-tissue influenced opportunities,
meaning that the muscles are one of the big reasons you may be
suffering from "pain."
I also believe that your first
line of defense should be to address the muscle surrounding the area
where you are dealing with pain. This may expose that there are trigger
points or muscle spasms that are potentially causing the pain or
dysfunction.
At the end of the day, your first line of defense
when dealing with the traditional muscular pains brought on by activity
should be some form of myofascial release or trigger point work.
